Petition/Demand for the Suspension of the Treaty of Union

It is my contention that the treaty of Union  should be suspended with immediate effect. The fundamental breaches themselves are reason enough. The argument cited by SNP is that they need    to  convince folk. Well you are not going to convince folk through inaction. Folk only know the system as it currently is. They are not going to change their minds without hard proof that Scotland is better served through full governance of its statehood. So suspend the treaty. Take full responsibility and accountability. Demonstrate that Scotland’s statehood is best. While Scots wait they could be setting up petition stalls all across Scotland for the suspension of the treaty. Princes Street in Edinburgh usually has some petition or other being campaigned for on it. Its street has numerous folk handing out flyers for X,y,z so let’s organise. Get folk backing the suspension. Doesn’t need to be half the population that backs it. Utilise town and village halls, pubs and other place...

Going Beyond Theory - The Practical Application of a Scottish State

Practical application demonstrates how theory is applied. Ifs, buts and maybes are addressed through demonstrating the reality. Where there is uncertainty practical application brings certainty through observation.  The argument from the "independence" movement is that people just need to be persuaded. Proponents have cited "facts" regarding Scotland, its wealth and its resources. They have theorised about how Scotland can do x,y,z better if circumstances were different, if only Scotland had full control of its governance yet that is where their arguments end. If someone came at you and said they were or could do x,y,z would you automatically believe them? If you disagreed, would you be persuaded otherwise through statement alone? Most folk would ask you to prove it. And for 53% of the Scottish population, that is precisely what they are saying. Put up or shut up. Stop harping on about something you cannot or will not prove. And who can blame them? Theory only gets...

What The Papers Say - Spotlight on Scotland's Statehood During COP26 - News

Scotland's statehood   is becoming an issue at the COP26 conference.   As far as awareness of Scotland's statehood at the climate conference is concerned, the English government are like Basil Fawlty in that episode when a group of German tourists come to stay at his hotel, and in increasingly manic tones he pleads with everyone “Don’t mention the War!” thus guaranteeing that the War was all that anyone could think about.  With their efforts to entreat delegates to COP26’s “Don’t mention Scottish independence!”, Scotland's statehood is very much forefront in the minds of many of them. Irrespective of what country you come from, you’d have to have been living in a cave not to know that Scotland has an active movement, and that Scotland resoundingly rejected England's EU exit which is the defining policy of the English Government.  Representatives of the international press who have descended on Glasgow are interested in the issue of Scotland's statehood. Their in...

What The Papers Say - FM of Scotland Working With English Government To Broker Climate Management Agreement - News

The FM of Scotland, Nicola  Sturgeon, said a  deal on climate management needed to be agreed after scientists claimed there would be severe weather conditions affecting the US, Europe and China . Asked whether the First Minister of Scotland would use the opportunity to reassert Scotland's statehood, the First Minister said her focus was not on the Scottish State but on securing a deal on climate management.  The Scottish administration is the co-chair for the Under2 Coalition and is working with the English government to maximise England's influence.  Prime Minister of England, Boris Johnson, said he was not confident in prospects of key goals being met at COP26. Statements from blocs of countries ahead of the talks said there were questions over who would take responsibility for the management and the financial burden that would be incurred.  India and China said developed countries should do more to attain net zero targets while c ountries most at risk from cl...

What The Papers Say - Scotland Backed Into Referendum Corner - News

Senior Scottish Government minister claims Scotland is backed into a referendum corner by the FM of Scotland. Western Isles minister, Angus MacNeil MP, said that the Scottish parliament had as much authority to hold a vote on dissolving the treaty of 1707 as the Western Isles council had of voting on the 1266 Treaty of Perth to rejoin Norway. Last week Scottish government minister and parliamentary leader, Ian Blackford MP, defended the Scottish government's policy to hold a referendum. When asked about the publication of their policies for a Scottish state he said he didn't know when a white paper would be published and had yet to meet members of his party to discuss a campaign strategy. Scottish government minister, Mr MacNeil MP, has campaigned for an alternative route to Scotland's full statehood stating that a referendum would be blocked by the English government regardless of which political party was in Scotland and has claimed that the English government did not wan...

What The Papers Say - SNP Conference Seeks Open Border with England Upon Reasserting Scotland's Statehood - News

DELEGATES to the   SNP's   online conference next month will seek a seamless trade between England and Scotland upon Scotland reasserting its statehood, however a Scottish referendum to reinstate Scotland's full statehood will not be discussed. First Minister of Scotland and SNP leader, Nicola Sturgeon, has said she will not pursue a referendum until covid has passed. The provisional agenda for the online SNP conference, being held from 26-29 November, reaffirms SNP's position for Scotland to rejoin the EU and to seek seamless trade between Scotland and England.  The SNP conference acknowledges that they will seek to re-join the EU in order to access free markets and increase trade. Whilst negotiating Scotland's membership of the European Union the Scottish SNP Government’s position will be to remain part of the Common Travel Area and to support the free movement of people, goods and services, with seamless trade between Scotland and England, and European Free Trade Aut...

What The Papers Say - Russia Has An Interest In Scotland's Independence Debate - News

RUSSIAN interest in the Scottish independence   debate online claims English Government's Defence Secretary Ben Wallace who refused to comment further. English Government MP, Ben Wallace, claims that Russia has an interest in magnifying division in national debates including in Scotland and said  that Russian president Vladimir Putin would not respect Scotland more if it removed the Trident nuclear submarines post-independence. During a briefing with journalists, the English government MP was probed on the Russian state’s interest in the debate around the Scottish constitution.  Asked if there was any evidence of Russian interference in the current Scottish independence debate online, Mr Wallace said: “I think what we’ve seen is Russia and other nations take an interest to magnify division in national debates around Europe  including Scotland.  I can’t talk about the here and now but there is an interest and more than that.” Last year the English Government...
